FCMB obtains ISO certification for quality management


Leading financial services provider, First City Monument Bank (FCMB), received the prestigious International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001: 2015 certificate for Quality Management System. The Bank received the certificate from the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), following a comprehensive audit and evaluation exercise conducted by the Organization. The exercise covered departments and branches of the lender across the country.

The development follows on from FCMB’s renewed strategic orientation, which has considerably deepened its core values ​​of professionalism, sustainability, customer focus and excellence. Throughout this process, it was observed that the Bank has successfully redesigned and streamlined its processes, procedures and systems to meet the best global standards.

ISO 9001: 2015 is the most widely used quality management system in the world. It provides a framework that ensures that organizations are able to consistently meet customers and other applicable requirements. It consists of policies, processes and procedures necessary for planning and execution that ensure continuous improvement and operational efficiency in the main areas of activity of an organization. This helps mitigate risk, optimize opportunities and the organization is able to deliver better products / services and a great sustainable stakeholder experience.

FCMB’s SON audit covered key areas including organizational context, leadership, planning, support and operations. Others were performance evaluation and improvement. As a result, SON said in its report that it found that the Bank had put in place and implemented “good practices, high quality management system awareness and risk mitigation / mitigation built into each. process activity ”.

He added that the lender also ensured “ adequate evaluation of monitoring, measuring, reporting and reviewing performance against key performance targets, service delivery was under control and customer satisfaction monitored. and analyzed ”.

In his comment at the certificate ceremony on May 16, 2018 in Lagos, FCMB Managing Director Mr. Adam Nuru described the laurel as another milestone in the Bank’s commitment to achieve excellence. in all aspects of operations and service delivery. .
