6 tested positive for coronavirus at Fiorentina
Fiorentina doctors have identified 6 cases of coronavirus. Three players and three Fiorentina staff have tested positive. The tests were carried out before the player returned to training after a 2-month hiatus due to the spread of the coronavirus throughout Italy, with the government recently giving Serie A teams the green light to return to individual training.
The 6 players and staff members have been sent home where they will remain isolated and follow government protocols. The club will prepare their players and staff for the corona test on Friday. Fiorentina did not name the players and said optional individual training will continue
Three Fiorentina players had tested positive earlier in March, including Wolves’ Patrick Cutrone, Germany’s Pezzella and Dusan Vlahovic. They did not fully recover.
Another Serie A teammate, Torino, has announced that one of his players has tested positive. The player was never named.
Juventus’ Paulo Dybala and Atlanta goalkeeper Marco Spotiello both recovered from Covid this week
A total of 16 Serie A players have tested positive. The government allowed the teams to continue their training and would take over the league after meeting with relevant stakeholders.
