Jake Paul’s attempts to reinvent himself as a boxer are paying off – the YouTuber lines up with UFC star Conor McGregor.
The collective boss of the creators of Team 10 really wowed skeptics last weekend when he knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson in an undercard fight before Mike Tyson clash with Roy Jones, Jr. .
Now Paul is said to have a very big prize in sight – in the form of the Irish UFC world champion.
“My team is talking to their manager, but that’s all I’m going to say,” Paul told TMZ, adding that he was planning “from f – Conor McGregor”.
Jake’s success on Saturday marked only his third time in the ring, following his very first fight in 2018, when he beat Deji Olatunji, before defeating AnEsonGib, yet another short video platform star, during his second fight in January.
And he’s been dreaming of a date with McGregor ever since he embarked on his new athletic career.
“I’m going to win too,” boasted Paul on the exit. “This is what I want people to understand. I will dedicate my life to winning this fight. “
Jake also told the Daily Beast last month he was really focused on his newfound passion during the coronavirus lockdown, noting that he had “fallen in love with boxing” which helped him “stay focused on becoming the best version of myself ”.
He also tweeted that he was the subject of a new boxing documentary, which is “coming soon.”
McGregor has yet to respond to Paul’s claims about a possible punch.
