Xtra Time Web Desk: The past couple of years Indian cricket has seen the rise of some promising fast bowlers. The likes of Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, T Natarajan to name a few. The last on this list is the talented average stimulator of Karnataka, Prasidh Krishna. Bowler Kolkata Knight Riders has been named to India’s 18-member ODI squad for the upcoming three-game series against England.
The right-arm couturier, who has represented India A in the past and is known for his ability to surprise drummers with his rhythm, called his appeal ‘surreal’.
“It’s surreal when you get the call to play for your country. It’s like a dream come true. Excited to play my role and contribute to the success of the team. Thank you @BCCI. Can’t wait to get started, ”Krishna tweeted.
Krishna had been in formidable form for Karnataka in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, winning 14 wickets in 6 matches. He represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The right owner played six games for the franchise, scalped four wickets and had a save rate of 9.37.
It took 14 months for Krishna to break through on the Indian side, however, but he was hoping to leave a mark on the international stage against a strong England side.
