The only trend I’ve really loved lately is the cutout dress. This Staud number is called the “Calypso” and it’s a new addition to my wardrobe and it has to be one of the most comfortable dresses I own. The silhouette alone would be quite simple, but with the addition of the metal ring and cutout panels, it instantly feels modern and elevated. Color isn’t something I wear often (the brand calls it “ capers ”) either, but I slowly turned to slightly more earthy tones. It’s a surprisingly versatile shade to wear, almost as easy to mix and match. as traditional neutrals. The ankle hem also means I could wear it as a daytime outfit or easily pair it with heels for the night – or just do both like I did for this shoot! And the best? It’s made from thick recycled nylon which is a huge tick to me.
As for accessorization, I thought it was the perfect time for this adorable Apede Mod bag to make an appearance. I wrote about this a few weeks ago and I mentioned that it was on my radar, and that it was such a fun accessory to add to my collection. It’s quite cute because it’s so small and I can wear it during the day, but it’s also small enough that I can easily wear it to an event or to dinner. My black Bottega heels have been such a worthy buy because I wear them nonstop, I think the cost per wear on them at the moment has made them a great investment.
