Asia-Pacific reports 3.9% growth in transaction activity in February 2021

The Asia-Pacific region (APAC) saw 3.9% month-over-month growth in transaction activity (mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture finance operations) from 1,126 to 1,170 transactions in February 2021, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Aurojyoti Bose, Senior Analyst at GlobalData, comments, “The success of COVID-19 2020 has remained a roller coaster ride for the global transaction landscape and APAC was no exception. Market conditions are expected to remain volatile as fears of a second wave of COVID-19 in some of the key markets will likely affect investor sentiment.

“However, the growth seen in February, albeit a bit slow, may be a positive sign for the resumption of negotiations in the APAC region, as investor caution is likely to still prevail for some time to come.”
