Davis named Aschoff SEC Communications intern
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (April 1, 2021) —–Sydney Davis, a former student-athlete and recent University of Arkansas graduate, has been named the Edward Aschoff Southeastern Conference’s first digital communications intern, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey was announced Thursday .
Davis joins the SEC staff after serving as a video editor and program creator for the Atlanta Community Food Bank and a writer and host for Pulp Magazine and Sydney in the House. She also has experience as an information intern for KNWA-TV in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Davis graduated from Arkansas in 2020 with a journalism degree.
Davis, a native of Snellville, Ga., Was a member of the nationally ranked Razorbacks women’s track team. She earned Honorable Mention All-American Honors in the 4×400-meter in 2018.
The SEC has launched a communications internship in honor of the late Edward Aschoff, ESPN reporter and University of Florida graduate, who died in December 2019 at the age of 34. Digital Communications Intern Edward Aschoff SEC will work in partnership with the Southeastern Conference and ESPN’s digital content team at SEC Network.
The SEC Digital Communications Intern will be responsible for publishing content on the official conference website, SECSports.com, and performing editorial production tasks in written, graphic and multimedia content, as well as data management. and quality control of various administrative elements on the platform.
