Reno Omokri, former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, led a group of people on Friday to protest President Muhammadu Buhari’s medical trip to the UK.
The protest takes place outside Abuja House, London.
Since taking office in 2015, President Buhari has made numerous trips to the UK to seek medical care since taking office.
His recent medical trip has been criticized across the country.
Keeping his promise, Omokri, in a series of tweets on Friday, said protesters were at Abuja House harassing President Buhari outside of London.
Omokri lamented the inadequacies of the health sector in Nigeria and criticized President Buhari for the shooting of Lekki during the #EndSARS protest in Lagos and the rehabilitation of repentant Boko Haram insurgents.
President Buhari’s frequent trips abroad contrast sharply with his comment criticizing the overseas medical trips of Nigerians and influential politicians.
Two years ago, the president lamented the fact that Nigeria was losing about 400 billion naira annually to medical tourism.
The current trip is expected to last two weeks.
