He enlisted in the United States Army after only his 4e season with the Arizona Cardinals in 2002, and just months after the attack on the World Trade Centers. Honestly, who the hell is leaving their NFL career to go serve their country?
Well, this brave and truly amazing man does it.
Sadly, we lost Pat two years later after being killed in Afghanistan by friendly fire in 2004. Worse yet, it took a while for this information to even get out on the Internet. friendly fire.
Pat Tillman inspired us all to pay the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country. May we always remember him.
