Netflix splurges over $ 30 million to get Kanye West documentary

After success with concert films like Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift, Netflix reportedly spent over $ 30 million to secure the documentary from Kanye west, which is produced by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah.

According to Billboard, Kanye has been directing the documentary for 21 years, so fans will likely be able to see it all early in his career.

Simmons in particular has seen and captured it all while filming Kanye, 43, since the late 1990s.

The film is expected to trace rapper All Of The Lights when he started working with Jay Z and Roc-A-Fella Records as a producer for his only solo success, but also the trials and tribulations of his personal life, including the death of her mother Donda West.

However, it is not yet clear to what extent Kanye’s battle for sanity in recent years or his marriage and now his wife Kim’s divorce will be presented.

Simmons and Ozah couldn’t be more perfect choices to lead the project as they worked on the music video for Kanye’s first single, Through The Wire, in 2003 and the third version of Jesus Walks.

Kanye has reportedly given his approval for the documentary to move forward with Netflix and it is expected to arrive on the streaming platform later this year.

Until then, glimpses of Kanye’s personal life are shown through Kim’s reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Viewers have so far seen Kim, 40, have intense phone conversations during scenes filmed last summer when Kanye embarked on his Twitter rants.

In the most recent episode, the TV star told sisters Khloe and Kourtney, “ It’s no secret that everyone is seeing things in the media about my life with Kanye.

“ But I have always been very respectful in not talking about [our] problems… I mean, you see them clearly on Twitter, so I’m still going to choose not to really talk about them here.

“I’m just trying to support him. I don’t want to talk about it on camera. I just don’t want to talk about Kanye or anything.
