The Foundation launches a learning center for students
As part of its mission to develop the next generation of thinkers, innovators and civic leaders, the Abdul-Lateef and Sanni Foundation has launched a learning and development center in Ikeja, the capital of Lagos.
“Our vision is to provide the right learning environment where all children are educated, regardless of their background and have the opportunity to thrive and flourish,” said Sowami Ganiyat, program director of the Foundation. Abdul-Lateef and Sanni.
Speaking, Agbatiogun Jokotade, Director of Academic and School Services, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, said the new learning and development center will expose students to high-quality knowledge that will transform the learning experience of students. students.
“The world is changing rapidly, and so is the education sector. This learning and development center is a platform that will enlighten students on emerging trends in different academic subjects, especially in the face of technological advancements, ”she said.
As part of its program, the new center will host workshops, seminars and training programs for public school students aged 10 to 16 in Lagos State.
The centre’s program will focus on civic leadership, the Sustainable Development Goals and digital literacy.
“I look forward to sharing the opportunities we have in store for students,” said Zahra Abdulkareem, the foundation’s program coordinator.
“Part of the opportunity they will take advantage of is access to our library which will nurture their creativity and broaden their minds.”
At the launch event, 10 students received an academic excellence scholarship.
The first among the beneficiaries were Adesanya Funmilayo who won the Civic Leadership Award and Abdul-Lateef Ogunsekan who won the Academic Excellence Award.
Program advisor Aisha Aminu advised the fellows to be the change they want to see in the world.
