I tried the # 1 beauty treatment in Korea

Hi hello, Lauryn’s little sister, Mimi, here today to share a bit of how I tried Korea’s # 1 skincare treatment….

Sometimes when I meet people who have seen me on Instagram, they are taken aback by my choice to travel to Korea. There are many reasons: the people I met there (my friends – I miss everything about you), the transportation (the metro changes your life), the food (Italian cuisine in Korea >>), and well sure, the reason you clicked on this message BEAUTY.

Ok ok i wanted to do this post for 4 months. Had it written for months, but got a little busy with it Buy Skinny Confidential And also I wanted to make sure I really thought about this for you! When I first came back from Korea, I was so sad (and quirky) to miss Korea to focus on something else. Sometimes I think about how I had a completely different life there. Then I packed everything I own again and moved to Austin Texas. Once again I had to go back to California for a funeral, now I am sitting in the spare bedroom of my parents’ house organizing my notes on all the beauty tips and tricks I learned in Korea. from the South this time.

My days in Korea were spent working, eating, and seeking out the best of beauty Seoul has to offer. I had to buy a 2nd suitcase for all the skincare / beauty products I bought lol.

Plus, if you’ve been to Korea before, you know the pain of needing an ARC card for pretty much anything, including making skin care appointments. Even though I might have been able to bribe a friend in spirit to let me steal his identity and make the date for me, I went for the much more legitimate way I found on YouTube. . To the Eunogo aka my flavor aka the key to foreigners in Asia. From the moment I first went to Japan in 2018, I discovered the appeal of K beauty, and have been searching for flawless skin ever since. Another challenge of being a foreigner in Korea is that finding a good, reputable clinic can be difficult. Even if you spend all day looking for Naver, there are a lot of clinics that just don’t work with strangers, so get in. Eunogo who has already done the research and is there to help you every step of the way.

Eunogo, and is a beauty concierge service that promises to provide a streamlined, hassle-free experience to help you book premium beauty treatments in Korea. I was very excited about the idea as there are so many services in Korea that I want to try and will definitely benefit from this service.

Basically Eunogo is the go-between between you and the clinic, they can help you with anything related to your treatment, from car service, translation, to skin care advice provided by trusted practitioners. Considering the beauty of Joy’s skin, I cannot imagine that she or the Eunogo the team would never lead anyone in the wrong direction. Eunogo also offers all kinds of services, not just the treatments I received you might get: Botox surgery, massages, products, body care, everything the beauty industry in Asia has to offer, they could probably arrange for you. You can easily book a treatment right on their website, or you can message them for advice on what to book / plan.

Eunogo connects you to 60 of their approved Korean beauty clinics, after suggesting treatments that match your preferences. And it’s not just limited to facials, but to everything from lasers to even full plastic surgery (there’s a reason Korea is known for its medical tourism).

I had the pleasure of working with Joy, she helped me every step of the way. Including helping me find a dermatologist in an emergency – when I first landed in Korea and had a bad reaction to a very popular and extremely expensive oil / serum approved by Goop , whose name I won’t say, but I will say I hate it and it’s too hard on my skin.

ANYWAY – after I got out of my 40s and my skin calmed down from the terrible reaction. Then I had a Skype with Joy and the Team Nana to talk about my skin goals. My skin texture is dry / sensitive, I also have hyper-pigmentation from years of beach life and not using sunscreen (sometimes I look at Zaza’s skin and it’s so perfect that I just want to protect her from the sun all her life.).

Before my trip, of course, I had studied all the hottest beauty trends in Korea a lot. So I was happy when Joy suggested going for treatment. I had previously studied laser toning and NCTF Filorga (aka Chanel Injection) “combines around 53 different types of minerals, antioxidants, and nutrients such as amino acids. NCTF Filorga will be injected directly into the dermis using a nanoscale needling technique that minimizes pain and treats every tiny pore to maximize the effect. You will experience skin rejuvenation from deep within the skin and the outer layers of the skin. It is recommended for those who are concerned about dry skin, loss of elasticity, large pores, wrinkles, and tired skin condition.

So the plans were in place, Joy sent me the information to get Nana Clinic. I was actually able to walk from my apartment in 역삼, it was a lovely cool day and the rain stopped just in time for my 10am appointment.

I arrived at Nana and Joy was there to meet me. She has the most beautiful skin I have ever seen, (Stay tuned for more on Joy’s upcoming skin care products.) I immediately entrusted this person with my life. The Nana clinic was so beautiful, from floor to ceiling marble, with furniture in light blue tones. If I was wearing makeup and a pretty outfit, I would have requested an Instagram pic here. Anyway, I had a quick consultation with the team at Nana Clinic, my Korean skills are poor at best, so it was necessary to have Joy there to translate and advise on my behalf. The Nana team explained that my treatment would look like this:

Aqua peeling

Aqua Peel is a deep cleansing treatment that uses a skin vacuum in which a rotating nozzle tip pushes an AHA / BHA solution into the skin and repels impurities, removing dead skin, blackheads, whiteheads and other particles. of pores. It effectively removes these impurities without irritation or skin damage, but hydrates your skin with an AHA / BHA solution. “Blitz pores with a water-based exfoliating gel and suction device that literally removes dirt from the skin and removes blackheads, while the skin is flooded with moisture.” Going through Net to wear

Numbing cream (as the treatment can be painful)

Toning laser “Laser Toning is an effective laser treatment for deep and dark pigmentation as well as for treating blemishes and blackheads. Laser toning evenly irradiates the skin, selectively destroying only the melanin pigment in the area to be treated without leaving damage or scarring on surrounding skin tissue. “

Injection by Chanel aka Rejuran Healer-

»Is one of the skin booster procedures, based on polynucleotides (PN) extracted from salmon DNA. PN is a chain of nucleotides which are the basic structural units that make up DNA. PN helps by stimulating the fibroblasts in our skin to regenerate key components that are lost with age, such as collagen, glycosaminoglycans, and glycoproteins. Rejuran Healer comes highly recommended by dermatologists because it improves skin health from its base. It improves the elasticity, thickness and general health of the skin and restores damaged skin. “

not to lie, it was painful. But it’s worth the cost. My skin has never looked better (even my friends in Korea asked me for advice for my skin after this treatment)

The IU Radiance treatment is a high density hydro-lifting treatment ultrasonic energy. It delivers energy deep into your skin using different frequencies (1 ~ 10 MHz) to hydrate the skin from a deeper layer and activate collagen production. It is effective on hydration, skin elasticity, soothing, whitening and skin rejuvenation. It is also recommended to undergo laser treatment to soothe and soothe the skin.

soothing rubber mask

to calm my skin after the injections, my skin was a little bumpy after the injections

So of course sunscreen !!

Joy stayed with me through every step of my treatment, making sure I was comfortable and translated my million questions for the doctor (these questions / answers will be published in another article soon!). So I said thank you and goodbye, put on my mask, grabbed a chai latte and enjoyed my walk home.

On the day of my treatment, my skin was bumpy and I didn’t want to irritate it further by putting on makeup or exposing it to the elements. So I sat on the heated floors and ordered chicken for the rest of my day.

3 days after the treatment, my skin was glowing. More than I have ever experienced, not only did he glow, but he looked so plump. I kept poking my cheek to check for elasticity because I thought it was too good to be true. It has been 3 months since I had the treatment, I can still say that my skin absorbs the product better, and overall my skin is whiter and brighter. In addition, my pores appear significantly smaller. Nana suggests having 3-5 treatments, but I only took the time for one treatment. Guess I’ll have to go back to Seoul and get more treatment soon!
