IoT News – Kerlink and AIUT Install Largest LoRaWAN® Smart Grid in Poland for Monitoring and Management of Water Supply Systems
LoRaWAN based installation Demonstrates how the development of the Internet of Things is part of the strategic direction of the Polish economy.
Kerlink, specialist in dedicated Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, and AIUT, international expert in dedicated IoT solutions, have created the largest LoRaWAN® network in Poland for monitoring and managing the supply of water using the Kerlink Wirnet ™ LoRaWAN and AIUT gateways. sensors.
AIUT has deployed the wireless network in Piekary Śląskie, a town of 55,000 inhabitants spread over 40 square kilometers. As part of its portfolio of Smart City IoT solutions, AIUT provides cities with flexible, easy to use and quick to implement systems for remote and stationary reading, measurement and leak detection of utility meters based on the best and most economical. efficient technologies. Hourly and daily readings allow real-time monitoring of the operation of the municipal water supply network, while reducing operating costs for the public water service.
Commissioned by the Piekary Śląskie Municipal Water and Sewer Company, the system includes around 6,500 smart IoT devices connected to water meters to transmit usage data through 15 Kerlink Wirnet iStations to the central control office of the system water.
Kerlink, a leading solution provider for the design, launch and operation of public and private IoT LoRaWAN networks, offers a comprehensive product portfolio including industry-leading industry-class networking equipment, core network advanced, operating and management software and value-added applications. The company has more than 120,000 installations in 69 countries across all major IoT verticals.
This is the first such implementation on a scale in Poland, covering an entire city and using LoRaWAN technology. The system also paves the way for the development of applications for smart cities and shows that the inevitable use of IoT technology is the strategic direction for the development of the Polish economy, which has been confirmed by the Polish Ministry of digitization.
Artur Gabryś, Director of AIUT’s Smart City IoT Division, said:
“The Piekary Śląskie network confirms that smart city systems offer the same benefits to all cities, regardless of their size. Optimized water purchases, incident and leak detection, electronic billing, and reduced service charges are just some of the benefits of implementing these smart solutions. “
“It is well known that a good return on investment in the digitization of urban infrastructure will largely depend on both the solutions and technologies available in the market as well as the competence to implement them correctly. It is therefore important to choose the right technology partner, and Kerlink has shown on several LoRaWAN networks around the world that its simple and reliable solutions guarantee optimal performance. “
“For nearly 30 years, AIUT has been committed to helping water companies and utilities adopt and benefit from the latest industrial technologies that improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.” said Stéphane Dejean, Marketing Director of Kerlink.
“As a leading provider of Internet of Things solutions, the company develops intelligent systems that can seamlessly integrate Kerlink’s industrial grade hardware and software products for multiple intelligent applications.”
