Bloomberg’s German bureau chief joins PR firm
Head of the German Bloomberg Office, Daniel Schäfer, has joined strategic communications firm Finsbury Glover Hering as a partner in the financial markets team, reports Maja Pawinska Sims from Provoke.
Sims reports: “Schäfer worked as a journalist and media manager in Frankfurt and London for over two decades. At Bloomberg News, he was responsible for the three German sites of the media group. Previously, he worked as a financial editor and Frankfurt bureau chief for the German daily Handelsblatt and as a German correspondent and banking reporter for the British Financial Times in Frankfurt and London. He started his career as a banking and commercial reporter at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) newspaper.
“Global CEO Alexander Geiser said Schäfer will strengthen the company’s capabilities in capital market transactions, financial communications and investor relations. Schäfer will join the consulting firm’s other 16 partners in the management team of Finsbury Glover Hering Europe in August.
“’In the past 20 years we have hardly ever advised on a M&A transaction that Daniel or his team did not report on,” Geiser said. “Our clients appreciate transparent and nuanced advice on complex and international financial market issues, which is why Daniel will be a major asset to them. It is a great pleasure for our team and I personally to welcome such an internationally experienced journalist to our ranks. “
