Hal Robson-Kanu is among 21 players to have been released by West Bromwich Albion ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Robson-Kanu first arrived at the Hawthorns in August 2016 after enjoying a successful run to the Euro 2016 semi-finals with Wales, the Welsh striker continuing to enjoy a 24-goal spell in 154 appearances in all competitions for the Baggies.

Charlie Austin was also released after loaning the second half of the 2020-21 season to QPR, in which he scored eight goals in 21 appearances.

Branislav Ivanovic, Lee Peltier, Kamil Grosicki, Kyle Edwards and Andy Lonergan have also been released from those in the first team as the Baggies chose not to renew their contracts.

West Brom also confirmed that the following 14 players were also released at the end of their contracts; Zak Brown, Nick Clayton-Phillips, Cheikh Diaby, Tyrese Dyce, George Harmon, Sam French, Tom Sharpe, Tom Solanke, Finley Thorndike, Aksum White, Harry Williams, Vinnie Dwyer, Jamie Emery and Ryan Grant.

The club have publicly expressed their thanks to all of the players leaving The Hawthorns for their efforts and wish them all the best of luck in their future efforts on and off the pitch.

West Brom meanwhile offered new contracts to Finn Azaz, Zak Delaney, Toby King and Owen Windsor, while also activating an option to renew Ted Cann’s contract.

Ten young players under 18 were offered their very first professional contract, in particular; Jamie Andrews, Zac Ashworth, Maks Boruc, Mo Faal, Tom Fellows, Ethan Ingram, Tim Iroegbunam, Jovan Malcolm, Aurio Teixeira and Caleb Taylor.

West Brom is now awaiting the unveiling of the 2021-22 season fixtures on Thursday, June 24 at 9 a.m., while continuing to search for a new manager following Sam Allardyce’s departure after losing at Leeds in their final game of the 2020-21 season as the West Midlands club return to the Sky Bet Championship after relegation.
