What I wore: black magic

Fashion, What i was wearing

I have always classified a great costume in the same category as an LBD: a wardrobe essential. I am always looking for a nice tailoring. I think a costume has to fit well, so there is no room for excess bagginess or too much length or fabric, it has to be a perfect fit. In addition, I am always on the lookout for interesting finishes. Whether it’s a unique button choice or just an edgy design feature, I think it can turn a good costume into something special. That’s why I was first drawn to this Sofia Irina costume. The long blazer and cigarette pants are crisp and sleek like all good suits should be, but what I liked was the cutout. I think it disrupts the figure in the best possible way, giving it a point of difference and just a hint of sensuality. This really makes this costume a great candidate for a night out or special event. But if you work in a place where a little risk-taking in the fashion department is welcome, it could definitely be considered office attire.

I wanted to lengthen the figure so I went for black Bottega heels, which also add a pretty feminine touch. Plus, I’ve always loved the vibe of a strappy heel worked with a pointy suit, there’s just something so fancy about it. While wearing head-to-toe black is a great fail-safe look, I wanted to add a little extra color to keep it from looking flat, so I figured adding a white Bulgari bag obtained an excellent monochromatic effect.
